Who this article is for: CleverCards Cardholders who want to temporarily stop a card being used, for example if it is misplaced or you want to pause spending on it.
What freezing does
Freezing a card immediately blocks it from being used for any transaction, without closing the card or losing your balance or transaction history. You can unfreeze it yourself at any time to resume normal use.
Freezing is different from a card being locked, which usually happens automatically for security reasons, and from archiving, which only hides a card from view but does not stop it working.
How to freeze your card
- Log into the CleverCards App.
- Select the card you wish to freeze from your card list.
- Tap Freeze Card.
- Confirm your action when prompted.
- You will see a confirmation message showing the card is now frozen.
How to unfreeze your card
- Log into the CleverCards App and locate the frozen card.
- Tap Unfreeze Card.
- Confirm your action to reactivate the card.
- You will see a confirmation message showing the card is now unfrozen and ready to use.
