Who this article is for: Businesses who have paid for an Online Shop order and want to know how to verify their business before sending cards.
Before any cards from your order can be sent, we need to verify your business. You only need to complete this once.
How business verification works
- Place and pay for your order. Your order is reserved as soon as payment is complete.
- Select Verify now to start business verification.
- Complete the required steps.
- Once you have finished, you are returned to your reserved order in the shop.
Paying for your order does not send any cards. Cards can only be sent once your business has been verified.
Where you complete verification
The verification route depends on your business type and where it is registered:
- Private limited companies registered in Ireland complete verification through our onboarding flow at onboard.clevercards.com.
- Other business types registered in Ireland, such as sole traders and partnerships, complete verification through a secure form provided by Stripe, our payments partner.
- Euro businesses registered outside Ireland complete verification through a secure form provided by Stripe.
- UK businesses paying in pounds sterling are taken to the Business Portal to complete verification.
Checking your verification status
Your reserved order shows your current verification status, which updates automatically while the page is open.
- In review: We are checking your details. You do not need to do anything.
- Needs more information: We need something further from you. The order shows what is outstanding, with a button that takes you straight to the step to complete it.
- Verified: Your business has been verified and you can send your cards.
- Temporarily restricted: Sending is paused while we request more information from you. Follow the instructions on screen to provide it. You can send cards again once this is resolved.
Once your business is verified
You can send cards from any of your open orders. You will not be asked to verify your business again for future orders.
Returning to your order
To return to your order at any time, log in at shop.clevercards.com. If you have a reserved order, you are taken straight to it.
