How to Pay Using Your CleverCard with Google Wallet (Android)

Follow these simple steps to make sure your payment goes through smoothly at the checkout.

Step 1: Check Your Card Is Added

1. Open the Google Wallet app.

2. Make sure your Clever Card is listed.

   • If not, go to your CleverCards App and follow the steps to add it.

Step 2: Unlock Your Phone

Before you pay, make sure your phone is:

• Unlocked (with your fingerprint, PIN, or face ID).

• NFC is turned on (see below if you’re not sure how to check this).

Step 3: Hold Phone to Reader

1. Hold the back of your phone (near the camera area) close to the contactless reader.

2. Wait a second or two until you see a tick ✔️ or hear a beep.

3. That’s it — payment complete!

Common Mistakes to Avoid:

• Don’t just open the app and tap the screen. Your phone must be unlocked.

• NFC must be enabled. Here's how to check:

  • Go to Settings > Connected Devices > Connection Preferences > NFC

  • Make sure NFC is switched ON.
