Who this article is for: Business Portal administrators who want to know what an Employee Benefit card can and cannot do.
Personalising a card
You cannot add an image to personalise an Employee Benefit card. Employee Benefit cards are issued with the standard CleverCards design, so there is no option to upload a company logo or custom artwork when creating the card in the Business Portal.
Viewing employee transactions
An employer cannot view the transactions an employee makes on their Employee Benefit card. This is a personal benefit, spent entirely at the employee's own discretion, and CleverCards does not make that transaction history visible to the employer.
Topping up a previous card
You cannot top up or reload a previously issued Employee Benefit card. An Employee Benefit card is a single-load prepaid card, so its balance is set once at issuing and cannot be added to afterwards. If an employee needs additional funds, issue them a new Employee Benefit card rather than trying to top up the existing one.
Changing card type
You cannot change an existing card from one type to another. If a card was issued as the wrong type, the way to correct it depends on which card was issued.
If you issued an Employee Benefit card that should have been a Business Card, contact CleverCards Support at [email protected] so they can resolve this. Employee Benefit cards cannot be cancelled from the Business Portal.
If you issued a Business Card that should have been an Employee Benefit card, you can cancel the Business Card in the Business Portal and then issue a new Employee Benefit card.
